CCR Blog: Music Video

 Below is my CCR blog.

Project Blog: Music Video

This music video was my group and I's second major project for AICE Mediastudies. With some overview, I can see changes in skill compared to the previous commercial project. Our editing skills have gotten better, however there is still more room for improvement. ClipChamp was the editing software that was used, but it is likely that we will utilize a more advanced software for access to more tools. My filming skills have improved as I was able to expand my range regarding various camera movements. My partners, Madelyn and Kennedy, were able to film in this project as well instead of only being actors.  Compared to our previous project, we spent more time on our music video which was expected as it was a minute longer than the commercial. But we also got to experience working together outside of a school environment which was enjoyable. Overall, working with them again helped improve our cooperation and editing skills. Hopefully, we continue to improve further.

Production blog; final touches

Today is our last day of editing out music video project. Kennedy, Madelyn, and I got together to finish up editing and add final touches. Kennedy pulled up the project on her personal computer for us to collectively go over the progress of the video. My group and I watched the video over to refresh our memory and look for anything we could change. Going off of the storyboard, we noticed several things that had yet to be adjusted.  Firstly, the audio for the song was dragged back so that the original audio for the introduction scenes could be heard. Once it was unmuted, the sound of the actors stepping onto the concrete sidewalk was heard. A part of the song was also cut out at the end because the lyrics didn't have any correlation with what was happening in the scene being displayed. The the song cutting off, the footsteps of all three characters can be heard as they walked off.  Once that was done, I made the song fade out so it wasn't a harsh cut and flowed better.  The musi

Production Blog; further editing

Today, my group and I got together to do some further editing. At home, I was able to open up the project but it would not let me properly edit. So, my members and I decided to group together to work on it on a single computer. The audio being used had to be temporarily taken out because it couldn't be heard. After taking the audio out, the unfinished video could be seen for us to properly edit.  When my group and I were able to start, we decided to go over the video to refresh our memory on what work needed to be done. The music video so far was only one minute and twenty-eight seconds but it had to be one minute and fifteen seconds. One of the scenes had to be cut out completely which shortened the video by four seconds. We had to cut out another scene as well because it felt as if it was redundant. With the scene cut out, it helped the video flow more smoothly because it fit like a transition.  One of the scenes that had to be cut was one that had Madelyn sitting alone near a fe

Production Blog; putting the scenes together

My group and I decided to get together to begin the editing process. Kennedy had brought her personal computer and opened up editing software and began putting the scenes together. Since all the recordings were on my phone, I had to select all the scenes that were going to be used and send them to both Kennedy and Madelyn to look over. Once the website was open, Madelyn and I made an account on Clip Champ. Then Kennedy tried sending the project to our respective emails but there was a connection issue.  After several minutes, I was able to receive the video. However, the computer I was using wasn't working properly (it wasn't my personal one), so the software wasn't loading. After a few minutes, I decided to edit using Kennedy's laptop where we both went through the music video scenes. Initially, the length for the video exceeded one minute and fifteen seconds and was one minute and forty seconds. The majority of the scenes had to be edited to be shorter or sped up.  F
