Production blog; final touches

Today is our last day of editing out music video project. Kennedy, Madelyn, and I got together to finish up editing and add final touches. Kennedy pulled up the project on her personal computer for us to collectively go over the progress of the video. My group and I watched the video over to refresh our memory and look for anything we could change. Going off of the storyboard, we noticed several things that had yet to be adjusted.

Firstly, the audio for the song was dragged back so that the original audio for the introduction scenes could be heard. Once it was unmuted, the sound of the actors stepping onto the concrete sidewalk was heard. A part of the song was also cut out at the end because the lyrics didn't have any correlation with what was happening in the scene being displayed. The the song cutting off, the footsteps of all three characters can be heard as they walked off.  Once that was done, I made the song fade out so it wasn't a harsh cut and flowed better.

The music video for this project had scenes where people were talking as well. However, my group and I wanted there to be no verbal dialogue. To fix this problem, I suggested that we should insert actual words to indicate what words were being said by what characters. At first I wanted speech bubbles but the software that was being used only had stickers and didn't let us type in words. So, the tool for inserting text was used instead with some words being in white and others being in black depending on the scene.

Overall, the editing for the music video was finalized and completed. Some final touches were subtly added such as slightly shortening audios or videos. Last minute, Kennedy added an audio clip of everyone laughing as a group. This clip was added at the end, over the last scene which wasn't covered over with the song. But other than that, my group and I fully completed our music video project.
