Filming at the Library
For the second day of filming, I went to my local library to film with my other partner, Kennedy. Since I filmed all of my scenes on the first filming day, I only brought a water bottle and a sharpie along with my phone. I was first to arrive at the location and let Kennedy know where I was waiting. However, she replied saying that there was a car accident and she was stuck in traffic. This delayed filming for around ten to twenty minutes, but she managed to arrive to the library.
Once Kennedy arrived, I followed her inside the library. She and I looked for areas that were void of any people. The library was generally quiet with a small amount of people so it wasn't difficult to find a spot to film. I found a small area at the back of the library and it worked well with what was planned in the storyboard. I was about to start filming until Kennedy and I realized that the prop had to be ready and in position to film.
The sharpie I brought with me was purple. I thought it would show well on the red object that Kennedy brought, but it barely showed through. The point of the scene was to show the names that would show up on the object so I had to improvise. Kennedy suggested we get paper asked the librarian for spare printer paper. Then I folded the paper around the red object and handed the sharpie to Kennedy to write her name on as well as the others initials.
Once the props were put in place, I started filming and directed Kennedy what she could do in the scenes. The scenes in the library required less camera movement than the ones outside, so filming went smoothly. After going outside, I filmed Kennedy doing her running scenes. Compared to last time, it was easier to film the running scenes because the sun wasn't as glaring and didn't get in the way of my vision. After a few more takes, Kennedy and I managed to wrap up filming in less than an hour and took some time off to hang out in the swings.
