Genre Research: Jumanji: The Next Level

  For further research on movies under the fantasy genre, one of the three movies we chose was Jumanji: The Next Level .  Some common camera angles, movements, and shots that were used in this movie were that they started off their sequence by zooming out to display the company name and logo. They also started the film with a wide shot to display where the first setting will take place before zooming out to show a character. this was followed by a series of zoom-ins in different settings in which every other character was introduced before the story progressed. Tracking shots were also used when characters were in a hurry and had to move quickly before anything bad happens and panning was also used for when one of the characters had fallen from a plane and rolled to a stop at a desert. A zoom-out movement was then used to show the setting followed through with a close-up on the people's faces to show their reactions to the unnatural world. Common lighting, acting, makeup, prop...

Our Pitch

Pitch one: Three people find an object each with their names on it, guiding them to their fate and newfound powers.  Pitch two: A worker opens an email ruining their day and potentially their life.  Pitch one reason: This idea interests us because the concept would be detailed and enjoyable to do. Fantasy is a genre that excites all of us and being incorporated into a story of our own would be interesting. It's also an interesting film because Tasmia wrote a short story about it. We would just have to change some of the powers for editing purposes. However, it would be timely, and editing the powers to look realistic may be difficult for us. Pitch two reason:  This idea interests us, because of the open possibilities. Mystery, Suspense, and origin stories are some of our favorite topics to discuss. It would also be interesting to film because we came up with this idea by joking that Madelyn looked like a villain. So, if we were to actually make this it would be hilarious....

Intro Blog Finale

      Hello again! Tasmia Kowcher here, from Fort Lauderdale High School and the AICE Media studies course. My instructors had informed us about the final task everyone will be completing and I am looking forward to the process. With more than half a year's worth of knowledge, I am excited to showcase the experience I have obtained. Before everything had even bloomed, I had minimal experience in terms of editing and filming. But now, after half a year's worth of learning, making mistakes, and growing, I believe that this final task will be a great progress examination.      Growing up , I had a small hobby of drawing and coloring as it made me use my imagination and express myself on paper. Filming actually became an interest around the age of twelve when I used an editing app to make fantasy videos with my cousins who starred as actors.
