Final Task

Here is the final project for the opening sequence. Hope you enjoy it! My group and I are looking forward to making more during our free time if possible. It was a worthwhile experience to learn the proper process behind filming throughout the year. Compared to past projects, this took a very long time to get right. Since it had to be two minutes long, it took weeks to finish editing. Even after all the setbacks that were thrown our way, we managed to complete it on time and with everything we needed. Both group members were very cooperative as always. I am glad that I got to work with such responsible and fun people, it made the experience all the better. This is probably my favorite project yet!

    My name is Tasmia Kowcher, a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale high school taking the AICE Media Studies AS Level as one of my eight courses. I enjoy doing artistic things, such as drawing, painting, photography, alongside writing and reading. Genre Research: Thriller

One genre that my group was interested in was thriller. My group and I found thriller an interesting genre to do because there are endless ways to use the genre to our advantage and to interest the audience.  Some common camera angles used for thrillers are close-ups and low angle shots. Close-ups are used to show the emotions on someone's face. Usually their faces are scared. This helps to engage the audience as they anticipate seeing what is making the characters fearful. A low angle shot is mainly used to show someone is above someone/or something else. Such as being in an authoritative role.  A common editing technique used in thrillers is using jump cuts. Usually to interrupt a scene in order to break up the scene and to make the audience feel weird about the abrupt change. Planning: Storyboard

Scene 1: Starting off the opening sequence with a black screen that will have background noise of someone huffing due to running, leaving the audience curious. Scene 2: The scene cuts to a low shot of our first character running in what appears to be the woods. To amplify this scene, sounds of crunching leaves will be added for a more dramatic effect.  Scene 3: Another scene cuts in to show the lower half of the second person who is also running where it seems to be a playground/park.  Scene 4: The screen fades to black again for the words “Pink Studio Presents…” which will fade in as well and stay there for a few seconds before fading out. Scene 5: The words “TMK Corp.” fade in after the previous scene, replacing the words.  Scene 6: Then the screen fades out and blurs in on an over-the-shoulder shot of a person in a library who is starting to approach a glowing object.
